Creepy Buildings

Skycrapers without windows are definitely creepy. This is the AT&T switching center in Manhattan. It’s filled completely with phone switching and other electrical equipment. There are no windows because they would only be a source of sunlight and dust, neither of which is good for such equipment. Also it is supposedly built to withstand a nuclear blast. Anyway, it looks like something out of X-Files or Men in Black, and is probably really either a super-top-secret-high-level government building or an alien base.

This is the Ryugyong Hotel in North Korea. Apparently Kim Jong Il ordered the construction of this 105 story pyramidic hotel in 1987 in response to a South Korean company’s completion of the 103 story Westin Stamford Hotel in Singapore. He wanted to show South Korean’s inferiority I guess. But we all know who’s really inferior. North Korea stopped work 15 years ago at the estimate it would take hundreds of millions of dollars to complete. I guess that’s just a little too expensive for a pissing contest. Or maybe they just realized that developing nuclear intercontinental ballistic missiles is the way to really win a pissing contest.

The sears tower. Jet-black with two metal towers rising out of the top like horns. Looks like an evil transformer.

Again, buildings without windows are creepy. Here’s the World Trade Center in Dallas and the AT&T switching center in Houstan.

NSA Headquarters at Fort Meade. Just a shiny black box.

These alien spaceships hovering over a shopping district in Singapore are passed off as crazy-ass parasols. Yes I know parasols aren’t buildings. STFU!
